# Sandevistan Cursor Trail v2.4.0
A Windows mouse cursor trail inspired by the Sandevistan effect from Cyberpunk 2077 / Edgerunners.
Glowing, fading "ghosts" follow your cursor in smooth color gradients.
The ghosts change shape together with your cursor (arrow, text I-beam, hand, resize arrows, etc.).
Author: v1kin6
## Requirements
- Windows 10 or 11
## How to run
1. Download `SandyCCT.exe`.
2. Double-click it.
3. Click the "^" icon near the clock. The app icon should appear there.
4. Hold 'E' and move your mouse.
If Windows SmartScreen shows a warning, click "More info" and then "Run anyway".
## Uninstalling
1. Press `Ctrl` + `Alt` + `Q` to exit the program.
2. Delete the file (and the startup shortcut, if you added one).
## Controls
| Keys | Action |
| Hold `E` + move the mouse | Show the trail (only while E is held) |
| `E` + `1`-`5` | Change the color mode (stays selected) |
| `Shift` + `E` | Lock / unlock the trail with the current color |
| `E` + `Shift` + `1`-`5` | Lock the trail with that color; press again to unlock |
| `Ctrl` + `Alt` + `Q` | Exit the program |
Number keys work on both the top row and the numpad (NumLock must be on).
A small tooltip shows the current mode ("Mode 3") or state ("Locked" / "Unlocked").
## Color modes
Press `E` + number:
1. Rainbow (cyan, blue, purple, pink, red, orange, yellow, green) (default)
2. Red, violet, cyan, violet
3. Green, light green, yellow
4. Cyan, violet, pink
5. Violet, pink, red, orange, yellow
Keys 6-9 and 0 are unused and type normally.
## Run at Windows startup
1. Press `Win + R`, type `shell:startup`, press Enter.
2. Put a shortcut to `SandyCCT.exe` in that folder.
To disable it, delete the shortcut.
## Notes
- Holding `E` still types the letter in text fields (the key is not blocked).
- Exclusive fullscreen games may not display the trail. Borderless windowed mode works.
- Some apps use custom cursors, so the ghosts may stay arrow-shaped there.
- Antivirus programs sometimes flag compiled AutoHotkey programs as false positives
(e.g. `IDP.Generic`). The program only reads the cursor position, cursor type
and the state of one key. It does not log keystrokes or use the internet.
